Pinhole Photography Workshop with Harry Moore

Born in Africa, started his education in Australia and completed it in London at The Slade School of Art in 1988. He has been located in Cork city, Ireland since 1990.

‘I have always explored different situations, work places and processes, enjoying solo and collaborative projects. As well as art, my areas of occupation and interests have included education, teaching photography, as well as theatre, boat building, photography, music & sound performances and composition. Currently I am working predominantly in photography, film and sound.

I have worked with pinhole photography since the mid 80’s, making cameras and exploring a range of situations that can be captured in this format. Pinhole photography can capture a discernable ambience and atmosphere of the environment, rather than the detail of the constituents that govern traditionally accepted photographic rendition.’

The pinhole workshop will explore the making of pinhole cameras, creating negative images and then producing a positive black and white photographic print. Some cameras will be available as well as the opportunity and details for participants to make their own cameras. the art of pinhole photography.

This workshop is for transition year students of Scoil Phobail Bhéara. There is a workshop on Saturday open to the public.
